Meet the Artist
David Watson collaborates with local artists creating classic
British designs.
Terence Gilbert was born in London in 1946 and trained at Camberwell Art School. He used to visit the National Gallery (where his father worked) studying the techniques of the old masters. Among the better-known commissions he has painted are a portrait of King Hussein of Jordan given by Mrs Thatcher and of Her Majesty The Queen and President Reagan riding, which was presented to the President in The White House. This design was inspired by the elegant ladies at Ladies' Day during the Ascot races together with the anticipated thrill of a potential winner.
