Celia Hart grew up in Cambridgeshire where her love for art was encouraged. She went on to study at Cambridge School of Art and later at Brighton College of Art.

Celia gathers ideas as she walks near her studio in south-west Suffolk. Her encounters with animals and birds in the fields and woods are worked into her designs. Her unique block carvings evolve from her sketches but still retain their lively lines.

Following her career as a designer, art buyer and illustrator, she returned 10 years ago to her love of lino and woodcut prints. She is clearly inspired by printmaking techniques from Japan and China as well as English illustrative print.

Celia has 2 DW designs: Five eggs -  a charming scene from a British garden - and the Garlands design which shows the wonderful excitement of lots of creatures.
